Dr. Hab. Bożena Zgardzińska is a distinguished university professor and deputy director of the Institute of Physics at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. An accomplished experimental physicist, she has co-authored over 120 scientific publications in physical chemistry and experimental physics, along with several popular science articles that bridge complex research with public understanding.

Her pioneering work spans nuclear physics, particularly the applications of the positron annihilation phenomenon in studying nanostructures of materials and advancing medical diagnostics. In addition, Dr. Zgardzińska is at the forefront of additive manufacturing technologies, focusing on the research and modification of materials dedicated to 3D printing. She actively integrates artificial intelligence tools and generators into 3D modeling, showcasing how AI transforms innovative concepts into tangible outcomes.

A trailblazer in education, she was the initiator of the first 3D Printing Engineering program in Poland, equipping the next generation of engineers and innovators with the skills needed for the future. Her contributions to making science more accessible were recognized when she received the title of Popularizer of Science LFN 2023. She also serves as the President of the Lublin Educational and Scientific Society, reinforcing her commitment to education and research excellence.
